Shirley (Shannon) Cassidy Glynn, 87, of Sandy Hook passed away July 27, 2016 after a brief illness. Shirley was born in Sandy Hook on March 31, 1929 to Mary (Gabor) and Martin Shannon. She was predeceased by her husband John Glynn, her children, Beverly, William, David and Shawne Cassidy.
She will be greatly missed by her only surviving daughter Maureen Manwaring and her husband Roger of Gaylordsville. She is also survived by her grandchildren Rodger, Steven, Jennifer, Travis, Kristin, Kaitlyn, Kolin. She was blessed with great grandchildren Amanda, Justin, Tyler, Hailey and Hunter who will greatly miss her. Shirley spent her entire life in Sandy Hook. She loved to travel, enjoyed her casino trips with her daughter, watching her favorite team UCONN and cheering on her great grandson, Justin play baseball. Shirley was a frequent volunteer for many organizations, including the Newtown Food Pantry. She will be immensely missed by all who loved her both family and friends.

Calling hours will be Sunday, July 31 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. All services and burial in St. Rose Cemetery will be private.
